Samiad: International SEO & Localisation That Drove Measurable Growth

Objectives

Samiad is an English language international summer school attracting families worldwide. They had a strong proposition and word-of-mouth reach, but search visibility lagged, and multilingual demand was underserved. They weren’t “broken”- they needed a specialist SEO partner to tighten technicals, focus intent, and ship localisation to match how parents actually search and book.

Map keywords to pages, fix header structures and URLs, and optimise copy so searches like “English summer camp UK” and programme variants surface the right landing pages on mobile and desktop, improving share of qualified impressions across peak enrolment months.

Implement WPML, hreflang, and clean sub-directories (e.g., /fr/) so non-English users discover relevant pages in their language, tracking each market’s keyword set to iterate quickly from first impressions to top-page rankings.

Clear priority errors and warnings, improve page speed and metadata, and resolve redirects to reduce crawler friction, so future content, links, and CRO work compound rather than fire-fight avoidable issues.

Strategy

We began with an SEO sitemap and header-structure implementation, aligning H1s, titles and URLs to a reshaped keyword model built from existing rankings, competitor gaps, and untapped variants. We then shipped a technical audit and fixes to remove crawler noise. In parallel, we implemented WPML with hreflang and an /fr/ rollout, plus rank tracking for English and French sets. Weekly GSC/GA4 reviews fed ongoing tweaks across on-page, internal links, and local SEO – prioritising changes with clear impact on visibility and leads.

Execution

Before

Keyword targeting and page structures were inconsistent, technical debt had accumulated, and international demand wasn’t captured with native-language pages. This limited visibility for high-intent programme searches and left non-English users underserved.

After

We implemented the sitemap and headers, applied URL improvements, and cleared 30 errors, nearly 1,500 warnings and 200 notices. We deployed WPML with hreflang, launched /fr/, and cloned key pages with translated metadata. Rank tracking across both languages now informs weekly optimisation.
